Where:
Oxford Bus Museum and Morris Motors Museum,
Hanborough Rail Station Yard,
Main Road, Long Hanborough, OX29 6LA

When:
Sunday 26th April 2026 (Drive It Day)

Time: 10am to 4pm

Location and Entry Details

The museum is located off the A4095 between Witney and Woodstock. Follow signs for Hanborough Station and Transport Museum (in brown), turning into the lane from the traffic lights in front of North Oxford MINI Dealership. Continue past the station, through the public car park and enter the museum compound between large iron railings where you will be met by Rally Control from 10am.

Parking within the museum complex is for 1100s and visiting classics only; visiting classics are welcome. Please note, no car movements are permitted between 1pm and 3pm, except in preparation for the road run (see below) or in an emergency. Public parking directly outside the museum complex is chargeable and nothing to do with the show or museum.

Entry to outside spaces within the museum complex is free, as is access to toilets, the cafe and museum shop; no ticket is required for all those areas.

Visiting classics are welcome.

Entry to exhibitions is free to drivers of 1100s or visiting classics if they are 1100 Club members; please be prepared to show evidence of current membership, which could be a copy of your renewal email or digital membership card (your card is attached to the renewal email and/or can be downloaded from the Membermojo system accessed via the club website). Adult passengers can purchase museum entry for £6 per person, which is a reduced rate. There are concessions for juniors, and under-fives are free (visit the museum website www.oxfordbusmuseum.org for details or enquire on the day). Tickets can be purchased from the cafe. Rally Control will give you a welcome pack in which you will find a ticket to entitle 1100 Club drivers to a free cup of tea or coffee from the cafe.

Non 1100 Club members in a classic are welcome to join our display, but entry to museum exhibitions will be subject to normal entry fees.

Event Overview

The 1100 Club was last at the Oxford Bus Museum in 2006, as this photo shows - recognise anyone? This is a great venue with much to enjoy on site, plus opportunities to take a bus ride to Cowley in the morning and/or a heritage bus ride and convoy of 1100s in the afternoon.

There will be 1100s on display and plenty of idle chatter! On site there is the bus museum, Morris Motors museum, cycle exhibition, café and museum shop. You can take a FREE bus trip to Cowley, a FREE heritage bus ride and drive your 1100 in a classic convoy. There will also be 1100 Club regalia, spares and 1100 Club Spring Show cake!

The museum is fascinating and extensive. Exhibitions are in two large exhibition halls plus two bus running sheds packed with operational fleets, and a restoration workshop with unique viewing gallery will keep you busy. The superb Morris Motors museum, spread over two floors, will probably be of particular interest to us!

There is a cafe, museum shop and toilets on site. No entry ticket is required for any of these. The cafe will be open for most of the day, opening at 10am and closing at 3pm, serving hot and cold drinks, light snacks and sandwiches. Toilets, with disabled access, are situated in the cafe building, as is a museum shop selling a range of gifts and motoring memorabilia.

Wheelchair and disabled access is available throughout the museum except for the viewing gallery, the workshop and the first floor of the Morris Museum. Dogs are welcome throughout the museum except in the café, where only guide dogs are allowed.

Our Spares Adviser hopes to attend, other spares will also be on sale and you are welcome to display 1100 related items for sale from your car. There will be a selection of 1100 Club merchandise available.

There will be a stop for a photoshoot featuring the bus and 1100s.

Accommodation

Should you wish to make a weekend of it, there is a wide range of accommodation in the local area. A quick search on a platform such as www.booking.com should yield convenient possibilities to suit all pockets; there are numerous hotel and B&B listings in Woodstock (3 miles) and Witney (6 miles), for example. There are also a number of budget hotel chains in Witney and Oxford; Travelodge Oxford Peartree (right by the A34 on the outskirts of Oxford and only 6.1 miles from the museum) could suit. For campers, and only 7.5 miles from the museum, Diamond Caravan Park, Bletchingdon, is but one possibility.

The 1100 Club is not recommending any of these options; we are simply making suggestions as a starting point for your own research. Members should satisfy themselves that any accommodation they book will suit their needs.
