| [312] For Sale: 1968 Austin 1100 automatic
1968 Austin 1100 automatic, rare two-door superdeluxe, 46,200 miles believed genuine. Incredibly solid and largely original. Dry stored from 1974-2012 when a sympathetic restoration/resurrection was carried out, including replacement rear subframe (original one was damaged whilst being dragged from storage), fitting of 1275cc single carb engine and autobox, which works beautifully. Also respray, but paint reaction sometime later so car is not a show winner as it stands - many comment on the incredible patina and age related look. Hydrolastic pipes replaced in 2020, NOS wheel bearings fitted, plus new tyres, which have done less than 1000 miles. Interior generally very good but the original carpets are well worn. Sale includes rare grille muff, jack and tools in correct bag, AF spanners plus many other items. Amazing history, but only documented since 2012. £3,200 OVNO.
