The 1100 Club National Rally 2012

The 1100 Club holds a National Rally every summer. The event takes place over a weekend and the venue varies from year to year. Across the weekend there is usually a range of ADO16 parts on sale from several autojumble stallholders, and of course the club's excellent range of regalia is available too.

The AGM takes place so that members are fully involved in key decisions relating to the club's activities, and on the Saturday evening there is a social gathering, usually involving a meal, lots of great conversation and some live music. On the Sunday there is concours judging, technical talks and demonstrations and the much anticipated awards ceremony.

National Rally 2023

The 1100 Club National Rally 2023 - 29th and 30th July at Milestones Museum, Basingstoke This year the National Rally was held at the Milestones Museum in Basingstoke. The rally was well attended on the slightly damp Saturday and there were around thirty 1100s on the Sunday. While not ideal, the dampness was a welcome change from last year’s hot dry conditions, as was the green grass under foot!

National Rally 2022

The 1100 Club National Rally 2022 - August 13 and 14 at Cogges Manor FarmFor 2022, the 1100 Club National Rally was, once again, a two day event held over the weekend of August 13 and 14 at Cogges Manor Farm, Witney, Oxfordshire.

The weather was sunny for both days because, like much of England, Oxfordshire was in the middle of a heatwave. Despite the scorching weather, sixteen ADO16s made the journey on the Saturday and more than 25 visited on the Sunday - some naturally stayed for both days!

National Rally 2021

The 1100 Club National Rally 2021Due to the prevailing social distancing restrictions, the National Rally was relocated to the Epping Ongar Railway (EOR) at North Weald, Essex, this year and was a one day only in-person event held on Saturday 31st July, with a virtual day on Sunday 1st August. Many members (in around 30 cars) took the chance to meet up again after so long, and the weather was favourable until the early afternoon.

We also had a Fish and Chip Meal Train in the evening, which we offered at the last rally here and was very popular. On this occasion, the Meal Train was open to general public as well, but the club secured a limited number of seats on our own carriage.

National Rally 2020 - at Home!

The 1100 Club National Rally 2020For 2020 the 1100 Club National Rally was unable to be held in the traditional manner due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Instead, over the weekend of August 1 and 2 we held a 'National Rally at Home' where we invited members to take photos of their cars and share them on our facebook page. It proved quite a success.

National Rally 2019

The 1100 Club National Rally 2019The 1100 Club National Rally for 2019 was held at the British Motor Museum, Gaydon, on a damp Saturday 27th and not so damp Sunday 28th July.

This year we celebrate fifty years of the Austin and Morris 1300GT, and we mark the 50th anniversary of the final Riley 1300 version built so it was great to see a Riley 1300 and numerous GTs on display!

National Rally 2018

The 1100 Club National Rally 2018

The 1100 Club National Rally was held at the Epping Ongar Railway and, despite variable weather, more than 30 1100s visited during the weekend.

It was hard to keep track as many members took the chance to take their cars on a tour of the picturesque Essex countryside around Epping.

The Saturday evening meal aboard the Epping Fryer heritage train was enjoyed by around 100 members and their guests.

National Rally 2017

The 1100 Club National Rally 2017

The 1100 Club National Rally was held on the banks of the River Thames at picturesque Mapledurham House, watermill and gardens just four miles north-west of Reading, in Oxfordshire, over the weekend of 29th and 30th of July.

This year celebrated 50 years of the MkII.

National Rally 2016

The 1100 Club National Rally 2016Our 2016 National Rally took place across the weekend of 13th and 14th August at the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre at Quainton, near Aylesbury.

It celebrated 50 years of the ADO16 Estates and the venue provided a chance for enthusiasts to combine their interest in cars and railways.

National Rally 2015

Our 2015 National Rally took place over the weekend of 8th and 9th August at the Acton Scott Historic Working Farm near Church Stretton in Shropshire, and not only was it dry but we even saw some sunshine!

This year celebrated 30 years of The 1100 Club.

The YouTube clip on the left gives you a bird's eye view of the event courtesy of a drone mounted camera.

National Rally 2014

The 1100 Club National Rally 2014The 2014 1100 Club National Rally took place over the weekend of 9th and 10th August at Capel Manor Gardens in Enfield.

After a very wet night, the first day of the event dawned bright and sunny and the field quickly filled up with a variety of ADO16s

National Rally 2013

The 1100 Club National Rally 2013The 1100 Club's 2013 National Rally took place over the weekend of August 9-10 at Gaydon, Warwickshire celebrating 50 years of the Austin 1100.

A total of 51 cars were on display on the Sunday.

National Rally 2012 - The 50th Anniversary Rally

The 1100 Club National Rally 2012This rally celebrated the 50th anniversary of the launch of the ADO16 range in Morris and MG versions.

The rally diehards began arriving at Gaydon on Friday lunchtime in their ADO16s. The 1100 regalia and spares tents were set up as planned. Koren organised an informal get-together on the Friday evening, which was well attended. The club banner was positioned for the mad rush on the Saturday and Sunday by the dedicated team of volunteers.

The LEJOG Tour cars all safely arrived at Gaydon in the afternoon after a marathon that deserves a gold medal for everyone who took part.

National Rally 2011

The 1100 Club National Rally 2011Our 2011 National Rally took place on the weekend of 13th-14th August at Capel Manor Gardens in Enfield, Middlesex.

As one of most southerly locations for a rally in recent years, hopes were high for a good display of 1100s and visits from some members from the south of the country who perhaps might not always be so keen to head up to rallies further north.

National Rally 2010

The 1100 Club National Rally 2010Moira Furnace, near Ashby-de-la-Zouch, was the venue for the 2010 National Rally this year. Despite rain on and off on the Friday afternoon and during Saturday, someone up there was kind to the 1100s as the Sunday turned out to be a true summer's day.

The heavy rain showers were so bad on the Saturday that we almost had cars and people floating down the slopes at Moira. The canal, adjacent to the Furnace grounds, seemed superfluous.

A good number of 1100s arrived on the Saturday together with one mint Metro Automatic (which some might consider to be a successor to the ADO16) and the unique 1100 archway was installed at the entrance to the grounds. Sunday arrived, calmer weather than Saturday and by 10am bright and sunny.

In all, 36 1100s and 1300s were present.

National Rally 2009

The 1100 Club National Rally 2009The 1100 Club's 2009 National Rally took place over the last weekend in July at the Wythall Transport Museum near Birmingham - and what a lovely venue it was! Three large halls of buses warranted closer inspection - the museum has the largest collection of Midland Red buses in the country, for those in the know, and Midland Red actually made their own buses, we were interested to learn. Also on display is a large and eclectic collection of battery powered vehicles.

Saturday dawned bright and clear and saw a good few cars line up in front of the main building. Lots of club members took advantage of the classic bus rides, offering the chance to view the local countryside from the comfort of a Midland Red.
