  National Rally

The 2012 National Rally will be the big one!

Celebrating fifty years of the BMC 1100, put the weekend of 11-12th August into your diary now!

The rally will take place at the Heritage Motor Centre, Gaydon, and as well as the usual tried and tested 1100 Club National Rally ingredients such as the AGM, concours judging, regalia and autojumble, we hope to have our well known 1100 Skeleton car on display together with the Droop Snoot accident testing car and the plastic 1100 bodyshell still held by the museum.

The 1100s and 1300s that will have taken part in the epic Land's End to John O'Groats road run will be ending their journey at Gaydon on the Saturday, and we are hoping for some excellent press coverage of this event.

A social event is being planned for the Saturday night, to which all are welcome - more details to follow on this - and the new 'history of the 1100' book, currently being written and produced, will be on sale.

We already know of people coming from Australia for the event, so there's no excuses if you're in the UK - let's make this the biggest gathering of ADO16s in living memory!

And what about the venue? The Heritage Motor Centre motor museum in Warwickshire is home to the world's largest collection of historic British cars. Visitors can uncover the story of the British motor industry with fun and interactive exhibitions.

There are free guided museum tours twice a day and outdoor activities including a children's play area, picnic site and Land Rover Experience. You can eat lunch in the excellent Junction Twelve Cafe and stop by the museum gift shop to pick up some motoring memorabilia.
