Stage 4 - Hamilton to John o' Groats, Scotland

Stage 4 Report

Well tonight's report is very short as the majority of the day has been spent driving a mammoth 300 miles across the Scottish highlands. We gathered at Bothwell castle at 9.30am for a collective photo in front of Scotland's oldest castle and what a sight we made!!

Our first mammoth photo outside Land's End and we made a spectacular sight and became the main tourist attraction in Southern Scotland. The Southern Scottish road certainly tested our Hydrolastic suspension, we have never seen such poorly surfaced roads and such big pot holes!!

Well the conclusion here is easy to draw where the modern cars struggled our 1100s sailed through in absolute comfort!!!!! We gathered again at Loch Ness where the monster made an appearance to look at our superb cars, unfortunately we are not supposed to publish this photograph until it has been verified by the Scottish Tourist board!!!

Look out for the photograph in the next publication of Idle Chatter!!!

Our next and FINAL leg to JoG was rewarded with what can be described as a Drivers road, in fact one 1300 forced a modern VW Polo (12 plate!!) to pull over and make way for an ADO16!!

Our arrival at JoG was rightly celebrated with a celebration meal and lots of drinks and thats where I conclude this report!!

Running Repairs

Ian and Dawn Kennedy replaced a Bypass hose and Martin Williamson altered his points....... not bad for a 50 year old car and having covered over a 1000 miles. Modern Cars who needs them????

Our car is testimony to a great British Design and its loyal following of diligent owners!!!

Long live the 1100 Club. LEJOG - We made it!!!
